This is a rare alto saxophone from 2005 that we've had in our shop for awhile and have not had a chance to work on. This extremely limited edition saxophone commemorates the 50th anniversary of the passing of Charlie "Bird" Parker and features an iconic hummingbird engraving on the bell. The Reference 54 series was designed to capture the tone of the much sought after VI Saxophones, with this series known especially for its projection, consistent, fast key work, and powerful sound. This horn is in mint condition and was well taken care of by its professional owner. It's got 97% of the lacquer intact, with some wear on the side keys and octave key that you can see in the pics. The pads are still in good condition and this horn still seals and responds great. The key work feels even and responsive under your fingers. Selmer really took there time with these instruments, so all aspects of this instrument from build quality, key work, tone, feel of the springs, and response make this a gem. Comes with the original deluxe leather Selmer case.
