Antigua PowerBell Pro Series Alto Sax with Jumbo Java A45 + Extras

It is ready to impress any player at any venue right out of the box. Antigua PowerBell Alto Sax Vintage Copper S# RAS040012 (Mint / Open box condition). Vandoren Jumbo Java A45 (Mint condition), excellent for cut through bright sound. Vintage Selmer Goldentone 3 mouthpiece, good for vintage darker tone.

Stock mouthpiece (new) resembles Yamaha C4. 2 neck straps (pro Antigua and another cushiony basic strap). Antigua case (great quality new).

Sound muffler (new), for practicing while kids asleep?? From the first glance the vintage copper Antigua became one of the most beautiful instruments I'd seen. It is built solid (bit on a heavy side), with lot of attention to detail. Factory setting was very good, I only had to adjust one screws and oil one key (most players wouldn't have even noticed it). I tested several MP/reed set ups and the best match I found was Vandoren Jumbo Java with Daddario reed.

It gave a loud bright punch to the horn's naturally darker tone. I was most impressed how full the sound remained in the upper register.

I compared this with Cannonball Big Bell Stone Series. The bottom half very similar but Antigua was a winner in the upper register for the volume and fullness of the sound. Choosing from Taiwanese pro horns overall I'd still pick P. Mauriat 76 or 67R 1st, followed by Antigua PowerBell or ProOne and then Cannonball (cant go wrong with either one, this is just my input).

I have always heard about professionals that use Antigua as their primary instrument, and after trying it now I understand why. It's an excellent horn, especially considering the price.
