The "Virtuoso Deluxe" model saxophones exemplify the exquisite beauty of the early 1920's Conn saxophones. These were the most elaborate Conn saxophones ever made, with extravagant engraving and full pearl touches. "Virtuoso Deluxe" model saxophones were special order only and were produced throughout Conn's "golden era", designated as finish "000". The "Virtuoso Deluxe" or "Artist Model" alto sax was the cream of the crop and it was given the most attention by the Conn workers. "Virtuoso Deluxe" saxophones were hand engraved from head to toe using the fine "push cut" engraving style, featuring ornately detailed patterns and scenes. The Conn engravers of this period were artists in the true sense of the name and it was these special order saxophones which showcased their true artistic creativity.
