Martin Handcraft Committee II Alto Saxophone Plays Great-Just Serviced

Very nice playing/good physical condition Martin Committee II Alto Saxophone on offer. The Alto was recently serviced and the action is sweet, light and fast with great response from low Bb to High F--please see receipt for full professional service details. The horn has tan leather pads w/rivets only--like the original pads--that are in pretty good shape and seal great (10 new).

The neck and body have matching serial numbers (135XXX) and form a nice, tight seal-top to bottom. The neck is in excellent physical shape with no evident dents or pull down (re-lacquered like the body). No obvious re-soldered posts or tone holes etc... Are present on the body.

The original right-hand thumb rest is present and the adjustment screw is fixed (happy where it is). The body does have evidence of past dent work near the thumb rest and there is a still noticeable ding still present underneath it--that's really about it. The non-original nitro cellulose lacquer is in mixed shape or completely gone depending on where you look... The really cool "Lion & Crown" engraving is well preserved with some minimal effect of lacquer filling and buffing... Whoever did the re-lacquer job on the horn 50+ years ago didn't buff everything to death. Ergonomics for the horn are good for a pre-WWII (1939) USA made horn.

If you're are used to "modern" horns Yanagisawa/Yamaha/Selmer, etc... Allow some time for adjustment, especially to the left hand pinky table.

What you won't need time to adjust too is the amazingly sweet tone that emanates from this horn, top to bottom, with intonation that is really good. The horn plays awesome right out of the case but please budget for individual set up (if desired)--though it plays great. II Altos have a reputation as great ballad/sweet tone horns with really good intonation---I think this horn is a prime example. I'd recommend getting a new one for regular gigging/school use or regular transport. LMK if you want something else and I always have stuff in stock.
