These cost more than a Mark VI when they were new! These are, however, excellent playing, pro level horns, which have developed a real niche following among both players and collectors. It is such a beautiful and unique looking instrument. The engraving is stunning, and it has some very unusual mechanisms! It is not currently in playing condition due to maladjustment.
It probably could be adjusted back into good playing condition, although, I would advise going for a full re-pad, as the pads are reaching that point. This horn is in overall very good physical condition.
The neck has not been pulled down, or otherwise damaged, however I'm not 100% sure that it is original. The only reason I say this is because I thought these all had a Leblanc badge on the neck, and this one does not. So, please check out the pics, and make your own judgement on that. There is a minor crack extending from the slot of the neck receiver (see picture #10). There are no major dents or dings, just a couple very minor pings on the bow.
It looks like it had some dent work done on the bow because the lacquer is a bit distorted. There is also a bit of distortion where it looks like the rim of the bell was bent down slightly and then restored. All keys are moving freely, except for the low C key, which is being sluggish for some reason, but I doubt it is anything major... Maybe just gummed up lubricant, or a slightly bent rod. It appears to have all of its original re-useable screw in resonators intact.
The lacquer is original, and in excellent condition. It is essentially fully intact, with normal light scratches and scuffs from use.
There is just a tiny bit of wear to the nickel plating on the octave key touch. This listing is for the instrument only. There are no accessories included, and it does not come with a case. It will be packed very well in an oversized box with plenty of proper packing material (bubble wrap and packing peanuts) to protect it.Please feel free to message me with any questions!
