Selmer Mark VI Alto Sax 1962 SN: 101xxx. A great playing horn in need of some minor work. Areas of worn finish consistent with a lot of playing over the years. Could probably use overall tune-up and pad work.

Beyond this, specific areas to note: 1 minor denting at base of bow; 2 one of the attachment points of the metal guard/housing for E-flat pad needs reattachment and appears to have been previously resoldered; 3 side C and side B-flat keys may need lubrication and/or action work..... All other action feels good. I have no reason to believe nor suspicion that the neck is not original to the sax body, but the area where the neck serial number should be is worn and neck SN is not visible. The neck appears to be in excellent shape and operating condition other than the wear. Neck color and patina/wear also are consistent with the sax body.

I have no reason to believe this sax is not original lacquer, but cannot say authoritatively. I played this horn enough to sense its great feel and sound potential, but ultimately decided on a different Mark VI in less worn condition as the one I would keep, so I did not invest additionally to update/repair this one. If there is a particular spot on the horn that you cannot assess in the attached photos, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to photograph it.
